PROTOTYPE·3 WEEK BUILD·FEB 2026
Portfolio experimentation system
Testing modular layouts, storytelling, and signal design for a product portfolio.
Overview
This prototype explores how a product portfolio can communicate judgment and outcomes through modular layouts — without collapsing into a generic case-study template.
The problem
Many PM portfolios either bury the work in long essays or flatten everything into identical cards. Neither format helps a hiring manager quickly understand product taste and impact.
Approach
I treated the portfolio as a product: defined content modules, tested hierarchy and motion, and built a small system for swapping narrative patterns while keeping a consistent visual language.
What I built
A modular page system with reusable hero, signal, and evidence blocks; tokenized spacing and type; and layout experiments for work, playground, and notes.
1

2

3

4

What I learned
Key takeaway
A portfolio system works when modules create clarity — not when every page tries to invent a new layout language.
What's next
Add content schemas for new project types and tighten motion rules for reduced-motion and mobile performance.

More from the Playground
Prototype
Calmo Cafe — a reservation flow that skips the early SaaS bill
I built a branded site and request-to-confirm booking flow for a friend opening a café in Toronto, both to keep him off OpenTable fees before the room was proven and to learn a real stack end to end.
Experiment
AI-assisted decision log
A lightweight framework for turning rough product thinking into reusable decision records.
